Job Specification for Search Quality Team Member.
Taptu is an up and coming “Search and Discovery Engine” that focuses primarily on the Mobile Internet.

Taptu aims to provide “high-fidelity” search results across multiple media types in a format suitable for your data connection.

In short; fast, accurate, pertinent results on your handset.
Due to our continuing growth we are looking to add another lovely human to an existing team of 6 within Search Quality.

Must Have Taptu Qualities

• Thorough understanding of the internet
o You’re that person that lives, breathes (and Facebook updates) the internet
o You’re someone who is passionate about emerging technologies
o You’re someone who realizes why the internet is a game changer and why it’s the greatest revolution ever.

• Visual Thinker
o Someone with “an eye for beauty”, two would be even better. ;-)
o You’re able to name top designers in a heartbeat
o You know your Artists, and photographers.

• Adaptable
o We’re a startup, we have to make multiple decisions every day, a lot of times that means refocusing. If you don’t like change, you’re going to struggle.

• Approachable
o We need to be able to talk to you, quickly and easily, if you’re a “bit quiet”, or a “bit shy” you better either have some more coffee, that or warm up real fast.

• Dependable
o We work hard, we work fast, we work accurate. You’re someone who can do it right, first time, every time, and if you didn’t get it right, you’ll know exactly why you didn’t.

• Committed
o You dig what we trying to do, it excites you, you want to learn, you want to better yourself, you understand this isn’t a “job”, but a chance to learn all those things you wish you knew.


Day to Day or “The Role”
Search quality forms an integral part of Taptu, without us we’d be nothing more than some fancy code and expensive servers.

Search Quality is responsible for making sure that Taptu works exactly as envisioned.

In the course of a day you could be asked to – but in no way limited to:

• Find a collection of images relating to particular search term
• Research the Top 100 blogs
• Tag a website
• Research emerging real-time web apps
• Brainstorm our next iPhone App
• Answer Customer Questions
• Devise ingenious ways to check our results
• Collect a list of the best YouTube Videos
• Hang around on the internet making sure you know your viral from your virus.
• Work on your personal “pet” project.
