Operations Assistant
Operations Assistant- An exciting new opportunity has arisen with a leading company based in Chattaris as an Operations Assistant. As the Operations Assistant you will be directly reporting into the Operations Team Leader. You will have a number of Key Responsibilities including:
• Controlling intakes and allocating references to keep the pack-house operating.
• Updating the stock sheets throughout the day with fresh arrivals and updates from QC’s.
• Calculating and comparing provisional orders with stock levels and determining our capacity to carry out the work
• Deciding upon the most efficient and cost effective references to use in line with all departmental requirements i.e. quality control, procurement and the sales team.
• Communicating the references to be used and the jobs to be carried out with the pack-house.
• Determining and calculating what stock should be used for packing and communicating this with ERMS and Sales teams to decide upon the day’s/week’s orders.
• Evaluating planned intakes with the stores capacity levels and communicating this with the procurement team/service provider.
• Monitoring the day’s intakes with the booking in sheets
• Arranging and coordinating out-loading transportation with GIST
• Updating and monitoring records for in-house operations such as: Out-loading quantities, programmed orders against actual orders, KPI and throughput values.
• Production meeting to communicate all line changes for the coming week.
• Signing off invoices for operational activities i.e. - transport/packing etc. All to a consignment number.
• ECR set ups.
• Booking transport with clearing agents- always in contact with vessel updates and arrivals.
• Arrange transport for all incoming product
• Booking in sheets to be kept updated - internal notice.
• Liaise with service provider of incoming product.
• Stock transfers/ Market sales – provide relevant personnel with correct paperwork
• Packages throughput – Keep updating throughput for all different lines supplied.
Key Requirements:
• Educated to Degree level or equivalent.
• Proficient at using IT systems, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office packages.
• Rubicon experience beneficial.
• Previous experience in an operational/warehouse environment is essential ideally with an understanding of the fresh produce industry
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good numerical and literacy skills.
• Good accuracy & attention to detail.
• Good at meeting deadlines.
• Excellent Planning + organisational skills.
• Good problem solving + decision making skills.
• Prepared to see the job through to the end.
• Strong ability to coordinate.
• Ability to work under pressure.
Hours: 40 per week, working 5 in 7 days (weekends included as part of the working week)
