Protein Manufacturing Scientist
PULSE Scientific are pleased to be representing a leading biotechnology company that has a site in the Cambridge area. Due to increased demand for their services, they now have a requirement for a Protein Scientist to join their busy and diverse team.
The main function of this role is to work on the production of our clients existing research reagents and on the transfer of processes from the research laboratories to the production environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ensuring that products are manufactured by agreed release date.
· Ensuring that supplies of raw materials and intermediates are maintained at appropriate levels.
· Ensuring that all equipment used is within calibration
· Writing/reviewing SOPS and MBRs
· Facilitating transfer of processes from R&D labs
· Supervision and development of 1-3 other people
· Line responsibility for kit assembly/shipping operations
EDUCATION, BACKGROUND & SKILLS
· Candidates will be qualified to degree or PhD level, with a background in Biochemistry or a similar discipline.
· You will have at least two years experience in a laboratory/manufacturing environment.
· Experience in two or more of the following is essential: protein purification/low pressure column chromatography, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, antibody labelling, chemical modification of biomolecules and hybridoma production. Knowledge of FACS or immunofluorescence would also be a plus.
