The scientist/engineer in this position will play a key role in identifying new opportunities for organic electronics, and in experimentation to realise these opportunities.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
• Fabricate devices in our clients cleanroom facilities.
• Characterise these devices using the relevant equipment, and develop novel measurement techniques and systems to improve understanding and throughput
• Characterise new materials produced by our clients chemists and external partners and collaborators.
• Analyse results and make conclusions, writing reports when necessary.
• Keep careful records of all laboratory work to ensure control and traceability.
• Identify new approaches and architectures for novel organic electronic devices that will expand our clients IP portfolio and potentially contribute to future revenues.
• Attend regular group meetings and be prepared to discuss results and contribute fully to discussions.
• Liaise with other technical teams to maintain awareness of developments and contribute as appropriate.
• Liaise with University collaborators, keeping regular contact with funded students and assisting them when necessary.
• Keep abreast of developments in the field via regular literature searches.
• Develop and maintain equipment for characterisation of the properties of OEDs.
• Maintain an awareness of the requirements for commercialisation of new technologies, including the complexity of processing and issues involved in production.
• Communicate effectively across the scientific disciplines to promote internal discussion and move the technology forward.
• Generate and keep records of new intellectual Property
