This vacancy is for a cook for Spice of Life at Addenbrookes Hospital. The role requires very little cooking from fresh and therefore experience although preffered is not essential. This role requires front of house presence and therefore good people skills are essential.

Job Description

1. To ensure all stores orders are received from stores daily and put away within fifteen minutes in the correct holding area. Ensure all stock is rotated in date order. When using stock check all dates and ensure you use the stock with the shortest date first.

2. To ensure fridge and freezer temperatures are done daily, am and pm and recorded on the temperature sheet.

3. All opened stock must be labelled with relevant information.

4. To prepare food as directed by the unit manager, ensuring that wastage is kept to a minimum by preparing food that needs to be used first.

5. To serve on the counter as directed by the unit manager.

6. To correctly portion food using the tools as instructed by your line manager.

7. To follow company Food safety policy. In this position you take responsibility for the temperature monitoring of both food and equipment, and ensuring quality standards on all food that the unit sells.

8. To deal with customers complaints in a professional manner.

9. To ensure the floor is clean and dry at all times.

10. To assist with any other position that may need covering in the unit.

11. To report any faulty equipment or hazards to your line manager.

12. To place or assist with the placing of the daily order to ensure that all products are available prior to service.

13. To report any accident to your line manager.

14. To complete any cleaning tasks as identified by the cleaning schedule.

15. To ensure waste oil is removed from the kitchen.

16. To perform any other reasonable requests from your line manager.

17. To upsell through encouragement of additional items on the hot counter.
