Floorball Unihockey Innebandy Salibandy (aka 5 on 5 floor hockey)

Date posted: Thursday 15th October
Location: Cambridge (Arbury)

Floorball is a kind on 5 on 5 (+goalie) floor hockey where you just use your feet to run around. It is played in a gym with a light plastic ball and shorter sticks than ice hockey (the maximum length is 105 cm or about 3.5 feet). The game in itself is very similar to ice hockey except that physical contacts are a lot more restricted (in particular no body-checking is allowed). Floorball is quite popular at the moment in Scandinavian countries, especially Sweden and Finland which both have a professional league, Switzerland and Czech Republic. As a relatively young sport it is rapidly growing in a lot of other countries. To get a feeling of what the game looks like in reality (at least at a professional level) go to this website:

We are a bunch of players from a lot of different nationalities eager to get new people involved into this very fun sport. Everybody is welcome, male or female, whatever their previous experience.

We practice on Tuesday evening 20:00 - 21:00 at Manor Community College, please don't hesitate to turn up at one of our practice for a free try out session. A lot of players have spare sticks which can be lent to newcomers so you just need to bring yourself in standard sport outfit and that will do just fine.

Moreover for those interested, we are going to play in the GB floorball league this year which will undoubtedly be a lot of fun and a great experience.
