Linux / PC Support Analyst, Peterborough

A leading technology firm specialising in the development of PC based network management products has an immediate requirement for a Linux / PC Support Analyst to join them at their offices in Peterborough.

As Linux / PC Support Analyst you will be actively involved in testing Linux / PC based Software Products, developed in house and sold through their Distributor / reseller network into Corporate and Educational sectors.

Proficiency with Linux is a requirement with additional experience with Windows and Mac operating systems seen as a distinct advantage. Applicants will typically have at least 2/3 Yrs practical experience working in a technical support or testing role

It is essential that you have an in-depth understanding of Linux.

* In depth understanding and knowledge of Linux based operating systems and Networking.
* Strong PC based IT skills.
* Working knowledge of Windows and or Mac operating systems seen as an advantage
* Good Interpersonal skills;
* Self-motivated

* Able rise challenge of working in a fast paced environment.
* Capacity for extending and expanding their technical skills.
* Team Player. The Job will entail working with others at different levels within the organisation with a wide range of technical skills.
The position will involve:
* Close liaison with product developers, technical authors and support personnel.
* Setup / Configuration and maintenance of Network based testbed environments
* Production and execution of test plans/scripts.
* Product testing and fault reporting
* Diagnose and investigate product faults
Salary: Circa £20,000 - £22,000
Location: Peterborough
