This wireless comms semiconductor/silicon company is looking for a Software Architect, to assist systems architects on various issues integrating new Wi-Fi standards into existing host software. The role will be based from their main office which is commutable from Cambridge, Huntingdon, Royston, St. Neots, Newmarket and Ely
This role requires a good understanding of the current Wi-Fi standards and how they can be mapped to embedded systems providing excellent performance and innovation. This role will involve free thinking and good communication skills to share ideas with the engineering staff. This will involve writing and maintaining architecture documents for others to develop from.
As the software architect, you should have experience in most, if not all, of the following:
* Architecting Wi-Fi host software.
* Fully documenting and communicating architecture to technical staff.
* Ensuring architecture is implemented and responding to any changes as needed.
* Keeping up to date on new standards and determining how best to fit them into current architecture.
* Communicating the architecture to customers as needed.
* Ensuring suitable test interfaces are architected into the design.
The ideal software architect should have a degree in electronics, maths or software and have a great depth of knowledge of wireless communication protocols such as Bluetooth, UWB / Wi-Fi. Previous experience of developing host and embedded software within a communication protocol stack, along with experience of TCP/IP stacks is all essential.
