Supplier Account Manager
Supplier Account Manager An exciting position has arisen in Greenford where you will be working on maximising value for money through the Procurement process by identifying and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives to improve the design and competitiveness of the companys products.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a commodity Procurement Strategy to the supply chain
Responsible for the management of procurement of bought out materials for selected commodities and suppliers
To identify supply chain risks and introduce necessary sick mitigation plans.
To develop supplier relationships by sharing forward planning and business goals to collectively make better informed decisions to enable us to reach our goals.
To identify and evaluate supplier capability and competitiveness an ongoing development of suppliers who will meet our current and future business requirements.
To establish supplier contracts and ensure flow down of terms and conditions from customer contracts is understood and accepted in the supply chain
Conduct regular business reviews with key suppliers and establish a supply chain process that will generate and increase inventory turns and lead time reductions.
Maximise profit contribution and value for money by optimising cost savings on high value material and expenditures.
Develop inventory management strategies aims at achieving zero stock outs for material supporting our manufactured products.
Actively working together with our Engineering / Programmes teams and our strategic suppliers to reduce costs, improve designs, remove risks and reduce products lead times.
Follow market conditions in support of the overall supply chain process and obtain and communicate technology developments within the engineering team to support new product programmes.
Communicate with engineering team during the project life cycle and provide intelligent purchasing support to product design and be influential in the make / buy decision process.
Continually assess the procurement process and, where appropriate, suggest and implement corrective action to improve the process.
Key Requirements:
A strong team player and must have the ability to create and maintain effective professional relationships with suppliers and other members of staff.
An excellent communicator
Confidence, credibility and communication skills to succeed in this high profile role.
Good at prioritising and managing own time to achieve results.
Works to a high level in a product development environment.
Can satisfy a full security clearance.
Ability to set up and manage development sub-contracts.
Good analytical and logical reasoning ability leading to sound decision making.
Ability to problem solve including creating innovative solutions to internal and external issues.
Demonstrate business acumen
PC literate with working knowledge of essential software packages.
Engineering knowledge or background to understand the needs of product development.
To have knowledge of legal requirements and terms and conditions of contract.
Proven record of delivering supply chain cost reductions.
Full drivers licence.
Desirable:
Experience of global sourcing.
The ability to produce contractual documentation, establish and agreement and aware a contract to supplier.
Full CIPS Qualification desirable
Salary: Negotiable
