I am a young professional due to start full time work (Mon-Sat) in the City of Cambridge.

I currently plan to commute every day from North London, which I have been told takes approximately 45 minutes. This must be an exaggeration or just a lie? Perhaps more realistically, 1 hour or so.

I will have a company car which will either:
a) be left at work and I will join a car share (someone else driving) OR
b) be driven by myself from London to Cambridge with others sharing as passengers

Either way, I'd love to share my journey with someone... friendly to the environment, an efficient use of fuel and save money.

If anyone has tips or advice, I'd like to hear from you. Particularly if you are an M11 hater/lover.
