Our client is a young and dynamic business in the green sector specialising in the development and production of hardware and software solutions to help reduce the consumption of energy. Their range of products and services are at the cutting edge of energy monitoring and control technology and candidates would have the opportunity to be involved with a business keen to develop and nurture its position within the market.
They are looking for a Java developer that can work within the business to develop a range of Java based software solutions to bring together web services, embedded devices (running JVMs) and mobile devices.The role will permit candidates to bring their own designs and ideas to the project and they are looking for people that are creative, dynamic and able to communicate well. This is a developers playground with exposure to the latest technological advancements working in a highly business critical environment.While it is not a requirement that English is the applicants first language, good written and spoken English is a requirement within a software development environment.

Experience
3+ years commercial experience using Java J2EE middleware.
Experience with SQL and mySQL.
Familiarity with standard Java vendor libraries, including ORM frameworks.
Skills
A Strong mathematical background.
An understanding of software development processes.
Good English language skills (spoken and written)
In addition to core Java & SQL skills, familiarity with Spring, PHP and Flash/Flex ActionScript would be useful.
Experience writing hardware or network drivers.
Application and network security.
J2ME.
