Programme Manager
Programme Manager £45,000 - £70,000
Main purpose of the job
Managing challenging and often complex product and system developments for clients in a wide range of market sectors. Offering a high level of diversity and interest, the role will include interworking with other seniors within the Products and Systems Division to develop relationships with prospective clients and identification of new business opportunities.
Specific responsibilities
•Managing projects across a range of industry areas, typically consisting of multidisciplinary teams (including hardware, software, digital signal processing, mechanics and production engineering).
•The position involves the management of projects through the complete development lifecycle, from requirements definition through to final delivery.
•You will be involved in proposal preparation, selection of the team, negotiations with 3rd parties, managing concept generation, analysis of the system architecture, liaison across engineering disciplines and the specification, implementation and testing of the design.
•You will manage projects typically in the region £100,000 to £3,000,000 that require delivery within tight timescales and budgets, managing both internal and external resources.
•You will also make a significant contribution to our business development activities through supporting our campaign managers. You will develop your own relationships with clients and will be able to respond to their needs, recognise sales opportunities and use your commercial skills to negotiate contract terms and conditions with the support of our business office.
Minimum requirements
•A good degree in engineering, plus substantial industrial experience working in product / system design and development.
•Proven track record in the management of large multi-disciplinary projects (mechanics, electronics, RF, analogue, software).

•Understanding of the product development process in a relevant industry
•Experience in a particular industry area, with an interest in using your management skills across a range of industries
•Experience in managing products through to manufacture
•Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
•Your project management experience should be underpinned by technical expertise in a relevant field
