As a User Experience Designer at AlphaSights Ltd you will be responsible for designing the look and feel of our web based software solution from the ground up. With a keen interest and strong background in user-centred design you will take high level requirements and design interaction flows, wire-frames and XHTML templates. You will be passionate about user experience and thrive on turning a set of complex ideas into a simple to use, elegant web application.

You understand the importance of web standards and have no problem switching between screen design in drawing packages to screen design in XHTML and CSS. You will be a great communicator as you will be liaising with stake holders from across the organisations to design a product that fits their needs. You will thrive in a young, agile, start-up environment where you have the chance to make a big difference.

Your responsibilities include:
- Requirements gathering
- Wire frame design
- XHTML template development
- Working closely with software engineers to bring your designs to life

Required Skills:
- Demonstrable experience in user centred web design
- A portfolio of web design work preferably including web applications
- At least 2 years experience in creating templates in XHTML and CSS
- A proven record of using web standards in template development
- Understanding and willingness to embrace agile development methodologies

Desired Skills:
- At ease editing XHTML in Ruby ERB templates
- JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery
