General assistant at Michaelhouse Cafe

This is a permanent full-time job at the most delicious café in Cambridge.

We are looking for an additional team member for Michaelhouse café, starting on 1st Sept. We want someone who likes good food, enjoys dealing with customers and other members of staff and is prepared to work hard.

We serve fresh home-made food in a friendly and efficient way in a beautiful space in the very centre of Cambridge. We want you to help us to that.

We will require you to:
• Serve on the counter
• Wash up
• Help prepare food in the kitchen
• Do cleaning
• Generally assist with whatever needs doing!

Additionally we hope to have the opportunity to train you on the baking shift (making bread, scones, little pizzas, quiches) and the cake shift (making cakes and tarts) once you were confident on the basic areas.

Pay:
Starting rate £5.90 per hour going up to £6.20 after initial training and minimum 3 months work. You are paid monthly by cheque or direct into your bank account on the last Friday of the month.

Hours: normally approximately 40 hours per week – sometimes more if there are private parties. You are paid for lunchbreaks and can have whatever you want to eat when you are on a shift.
