Our current Tranee Au Pair is going to travel, she came to us 3 months ago with no previous experience, but her enthusiasm for children, a love of the countryside, and superb intiative to see when things need doing means she will leave us next week with an impecible reference she intends to take with her traveling around the world to au pair in other countries!

We therefore look for somebody else to come and gain experience in our home with our family and children. We are both self employed working parents which means our working hours are erratic and irregular and therefore need somebody at home to ensure the smooth running of the house and some care of the children who are twins girls of 2 (at nursery daily) and boy of 11 and girl of 12 (both attend school and away at weekends).

We live in a modest 4 bed country cottage, we have several acres of land in which we keep chickens, sheep and 3 horses (keen horse rider would be in heaven). We also have two dogs who have a room in the house and 2 cats who live in the stable block.

We are a very down to earth friendly family to work for and will make you most welcome during your stay with us, you will have a room in the house and share a bathroom with the older children when they are home, full use of tv/play room and internet connections. We will provide all your meals and pay you a weekly cash wage in return for being on hand to help out as and when needed with no set hours which will include weekend work, we would encourage you to have a day and a half leave every week.

Ideally a cheerful indivudual , lots of initiative, with the ability to cope with stress related to toddler training! It is a rural location but walking distance to nearest village and station, driver not essential. Checkable personal references a must and some experience with children and animals essential.

This position is to start 12th September for a period of 3 - 6 months (which can be extended).
