PROJECT:
The National Grid operates 7000km of overhead transmission lines & cables in England and Wales, the majority of which is ageing and needs refurbishing.

Using the skills & expertise gained as a recognised market leader in the power sector our client is responsible for delivering a challenging capital programme to support the safe efficient replacement, renewal and augmentation of overhead lines & cables for a wide range of sites from NE England, the Midlands, Wales and the West of England.

Our client's Power Training School is designed to tackle a national skills shortage & offers a two year course combining class-based & practical training & will enable you to work on wide range of projects in the Power sector.

THE ROLE:
- Planning, day to day co-ordination & management of Foremen, Linesmen, Sub Contractors and required resources (plant, materials & labour) to carry out required projects.
- Production of all Method Statements, Work Instructions & Risk Assessments.
- Cost control & financial awareness of the status of the project element for which you are responsible.
- Ensure safe working practises & Health & Safety matters of staff and sub-contractors working under your control on projects are enforced.

CANDIDATE:
- Ideally the candidate will possess a recognised Engineering Qualification such as Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Ideally possess a recognised Safety Qualification (such as IOSH or NEBOSH).
